CHRISTMAS PARTY
2006
December at the Red Blazer Restaurant saw many members of the
group gather for a Holiday Party. Each table was decorated by
with a lovely and fragrant centerpiece donated by Cobblestone
Design of Concord. The red, scented pillar candles, red and white
carnations, holiday decorations, fragrant greens and lilies perfumed
the room as people gathered for a festive luncheon. A cake had
been provided by Carole Holmes decorated in red, green and white
with holly leaves and poinsettias and the crisp red and while
linens on the tables complemented the entire theme. Entertainment
was provided by Mr. Vayans who sang holiday songs and played his
guitar throughout the luncheon.
Some members of the group including Larry Ashford, Amy Nichols
and Carol Holmes, had brought items they had donated or solicited
for door prizes. Pet Quarters and Petco both donated items for
raffle or door prizes. Among these many items were dog guide themed
pins, t-shirts and ties, and stockings filled with dog treats.
Each dog and puppy attending the party received a portable water
bowl courtesy of Larry Ashford.
A highlight of the day was the “Doggie Swap.” Fashioned
along the lines of the ever popular Yankee Swap, doggie items
were drawn by raffle and then swapped. The hot item of the day
was a doggie raincoat which changed hands a number of times before
it was finally claimed.
