Heffernan is a puppy raiser with Guiding Eyes for the blind.
The first puppy that she raised was a black Labrador by
the name of “Granite.” Granite is a working
guide now and resides in Winnipeg, Canada with his owner,
Tina. Here are two photos of “Granite”, one
as a puppy and one as proudly working. |

OUTSIDE STORIES AND PUPPY LINKS
A heartfelt
message from Courtney
Dakota
received a wonderful letter from Courtney who wanted "to
say a big THANK YOU to all of the wonderful puppy raisers out
there who give their homes and hearts to creatures who they know
will leave someday". Her guide dog Kazzi, was specially trained
to walk on Courtney's right side since Courtney has cerebral palsy
as well as blindness. "She is the most wonderful thing in
my life, and she would not be the way she is without her wonderful
puppy raisers". February 2005. http://www.seedakota.com/puppy/index.htm
